Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is a 2019 Netflix drama based on the Ted Bundy trials. It is directed by Joe Berlinger who has made Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows and Paradise Lost. It stars Lily Collins, Eliziabeth, and Zac Efron, Ted Bundy. Now, Zac Efron is great as Ted Bundy and he delivers to the role. Lily Collins is great as well. While the movie is entertaining, it is problematic. We see Bundy as innocent throughout the whole film and that is really what the average viewer will see and believe, but everyone who will probably watch this film will already know the whole story. It felt like a waste of time, we already know what happens and we are treated like we do not. I would like to see the mind of Bundy and his whole story from when he first killed someone to his death. The concept does not really work as a film. It would really work as a mini series. I just don’t see that big build up ending working if everyone already knows what happens. The film also has a weird tone. It is strangely upbeat with its music in the wrong scenes. I do not know if they were trying to make it creepy, but it did not work. In the end, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile was film that did not really need to be made and gave no impact on the industry whats so ever. My name’s Plasticnut and I give Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile 5 out of 10 acorns.
