Alien Covenant is the latest film in the Alien Franchise. This film is visually stunning and the cinematography is phenomenal! The cast is great and the scares deliver! The neomorph is also very creepy and scary and is a great new cinematic creature. The film is a sequel to Prometheus and a prequel to Alien. The reason it is high on the list though is because the story gets convoluted on some parts and hard to know what is going on. Other than that, it is definitely worth a watch!
#9: The Blair Witch Project
The Blair Witch Project is a found footage horror film about 3 film student who encounter, what they believe to be a witch, in the woods. The Movie is straight up terrifying! It holds you on the edge of your seat the entire time! There are points where it is so quiet that it can be uncomfortable and unsettling! We never see the witch, which makes it that more weird and scary! Why it is high on the list is because it ends with such a cliffhanger ending and the 2016 sequel came out and it ruined the whole lure the first one had so it kinda downgraded it a little. If you just stick to the first one, then this movie is a must watch!

The babadook is a 2014 horror film about a mother and son encountering a demonic entity who is terrorizing them. The film has great cinematography and an unsettling score! The acting is great and the story is amazing. The message is amazing as well. It has a beautiful message with a beautiful story! It definitely should be a film that needs to be watched for anyone looking for a great horror film!

Sinister is 2012 horror film that follows a writer investigating sinister murders by children when he is met with a sinister entity. This film is terrifying! The scariest film on this list! It has the most disturbing imagery I have ever seen! The acting is great, the scares are smart and the score is excellent! It really is an intriguing story with some quality scares! If you are brave enough, then for sure check this film out!

Scream is a 1996 slasher film directed by the amazing Wes Craven! Scream is a staple of the horror genre and changed it forever! It is smart and funny! Scream is so self aware and knows what kind of movie it is so it makes fun of itself! It is genius! With its talented cast and it’s amazing story and premise, Scream really is the best Slasher film ever made!
#5: Get Out
Get Out is a 2017 horror film directed by Jordan Peele! Get Out is an amazing horror film with social commentary but it is not forced! It flows with the story and it is a film that we needed. I feel before Get Out, the horror genre was not very respected. Get Out revolutionized the modern horror genre in the best way possible! With its chilling feel and amazing acting, Get Out is not only a phenomenal Horror film but a phenomenal film in general! It is also a gorgeous looking movie! A definite must watch!
#4: 10 Cloverfield Lane
10 Cloverfield Lane is a great horror film diving deep into the horror of humanity. We have a talented cast that we are with the whole film and really drive the film forward. With its terrifying and beautiful plot, Lane does a great job scaring us but also makes us think about how sane we really are. They show the creatures aren’t really some dangerous and frightening being, but humans themselves! It is also beautifully shot and the sound design is fantastic! 10 Cloverfield Lane is a must watch for any horror fans!

Hereditary is a 2018 horror film directed by Ari Aster. This film is full of twists and turns that you feel helpless the whole time like your one of the characters! The acting is phenomenal and the script is priceless! The movie is shot so amazingly and has truly horrifying moments! The ending is scary as hell and should be seen without anything being spoiled! Hereditary is one of the best films ever made as of right now!
#2: The Strangers: Prey at Night
The Strangers: Prey at Night is a 2018 slasher/horror film that is so underrated and unappreciated! This film is said to be a cinematic disaster, but for me it is a cinematic masterpiece! The fucking soundtrack and the way they incorporate the music into scenes is so fucking beautiful! The cinematography is so freaking gorgeous! The kills feel worth it and the characters feel like they mean something to the story! The film starts off very cliche, but further along they trash that concept and do their own thing and it is amazing! This film gives me goosebumps every time I watch it and I love it! This film is a must see for anyone looking to have a good time!

These are the stories that will stick with you after you watch the film! They both have amazing stories that will make you appreciate the genre so much more!
