The Society is a Netflix original that was released in May of 2019. The whole premise of the show is about seniors getting lost in their own town after coming back from a field trip. No parents, no rules, no boundaries and no leader. I can’t explain this stupid show any better! Now, this show was just OK. I like the whole idea of the show and the lure it has. I liked the government aspect of it and how they struggle to build and maintain a community. Other than that, this show was cringy, awkward, unrelatable and boring. The characters in this show are so fucking annoying! The characters are always horny and when we get to a sexual scene it gets so uncomfortable! The shit they say is so weird and gross, top it with horrible acting and you get a shit scene. The characters are not relatable in any way! I’m a teenager and I have many senior friends and I know for a fact that the stupid shit the characters did, would never really happen. I really feel like this show is trying to be as edgy as possible, but it just comes off as boring and predictable. The shows cliffhanger ending was the worst way to end the show! They left more questions than answers and as soon as the credits came up I asked myself, the fuck was the point of me watching this all the way!? In the end, The Society has an interesting story and lure to it, but is overshadowed with awkward, predictable and bland characters. My name’s Plasticnut and I give The Society 5 out of 10 acorns!
